It's All A Misunderstanding . . .

The Dad sauntered up to the table during his lunch hour a few days ago, and joined two co-workers, one brand new.

Said CoWorker 1 to Newbie, by way of introduction: "Hey! The Dad's son is an actor in Hollywood!"

"Really?" queried the Newbie.

"Yup." said CoWorker 1, with a sense of bravado. "His boy has a supporting role in an upcoming movie."

The Dad pipes up. "Not a supporting role, my friend. A lead role."

"No way!" retorted CoWorker 1. "He's not the main character!"

"Right, but he is a main character. My boy is a lead. He's important to the story line." replied The Dad. "There are three levels of status in a show. Lead, Principal, and Extra . . ."

"But the movie isn't about Israel!" CoWorker 1 yet declared, emphatic to point out his perspective.

"Huh?" said the Newbie, now thoroughly confused. "What's Israel got to do with this?"

Chuckling, The Dad clarified. "Not the nation Israel . . . my son's name is Israel . . ."

Scenes from the Twelfth Floor Office

Not one for heights, the open window was both an uncanny draw and a repelling feature to me.

The draw won. :)

Less than an hour later, nightfall enveloped us. The building which was both a landmark and an audition destination lit up the skyline with gusto.

Skyline

Vehicles bumper to bumper, beneath the skyline of buildings; pedestrians scurrying to and fro on nearby sidewalks, carrying backpacks, bags, books, bundles.

It never ceases to amaze us that multitudes call this cement jungle home.
